Arthropods
Arthropods include several groups however we will discuss three:
An arthropod is an animal that belongs to the division of the animal kingdom called Arthropoda. It is a Greek word meaning "jointed feet". They were given this name because of their jointed legs. ¾ of the earth's animals are arthropods. Insects, centipedes, millipedes, crustaceans, and arachnids are all arthropods. Some examples are: crabs, lobsters, bees, butterflies, spiders, and scorpions.
Spiders and Scorpions
Spiders and scorpions are both types of arachnids. This means that they have eight legs. You may not have ever seen a scorpion before because they only live in very warm areas, but spiders can be found almost anywhere! You can learn more about spiders and scorpions if you follow the link above.
